A User’s Guide to Trump v. Anderson: Collected Posts

Marty Lederman

Below are links to the complete series of my posts on Trump v. Anderson.  I've amended or expanded some of the posts in response to reply briefs and other things, and significantly filled out Part Eight, about the prospects of an Anderson/Burdick "election law"/First Amendment/federalism off-ramp, in the wake of the oral argument.

I should note that none of the Justices asked about mootness or 1257(a) statutory jurisdiction (see Part One), and so none of the parties addressed those things, either.  The Court is obligated, at least in theory, to assure itself on both of those jurisdictional issues before it proceeds to the merits.
