A few days ago, I posted
here on the subject of large law firms, suggesting that they may be one economic institution that closely fits Marx's analysis of industrial capitalism. I've learned that this argument was developed in greater detail in
Douglas Litowitz, The Destruction of Young Lawyers (University of Akron Press, 2005), especially the section entitled "Associate = Wage-Slave Employed at Will," pp. 74-87.
