Mitch McConnell, who will almost certainly remain as Senate Majority Leader, is now at the peak of his power. No longer constrained by the need to defer to Donald Trump, he is the new de facto head of the Republican Party. He will block any legislation that would help the Democrats keep the presidency. address it are in big
trouble. But he might still be able
to accomplish a lot, as long as Republicans think he won’t get much political
credit for it.
