Regulating Search

Today Yale's Information Society Project (of which I am the director) is holding a conference on search engines and the law, entitled "Regulating Search?" You can find out more about the conference here.

  1. Ooh. This is interesting. Would the transcripts be available to the public?

The one that really intrigued me was the part about intellectual property and individual rights.

PS: Long time reader, never posted a comment before as I am intimidated by your credentials. ;(

  2. I also find that it looks to be a very fascinating symposium.
I can't help but feel that any constraints placed on search engines will ultimately prove to be a disadvantage for both those who want to keep the Internet 'neutral', as well as those who want it made a 'safer' place.

It seems to me that Benjamin Franklin, were he here, would be more than a little delighted if the Internet could facilitate a contest to find that substance which could produce the most fragrant of gastronomic disturbances, and even more so if search engines could reveal such discoveries to the common user.
