Jane's Law and the Problem of Self-Reference

Jane Galt of Assymetrical Information offers the following pithy assessment of contemporary partisanship:

Jane's Law: The devotees of the party in power are smug and arrogant. The devotees of the party out of power are insane.

Which leads to the obvious question: Which is Jane then, smug and arrogant or insane?
